first post: shows
Hello, for my first post, we just got another show at the viper room October 5th with our favorite LA band It's Casual and 16. That place is kind of weird to play at, you get behind a big curtain and sound check while everyone behind the curtain is oblivious to what is said or done.
I can play really loud through my equipment, and this magic curtain doesn't have any bleed through or maybe it does, i don't know i just find it weird.
Also September 12 we have a show at the Cocaine. I heard it's just a sushi house that puts shows on, but honestly after reading their description: "The Cocaine is not a club or a clique. It’s not a business venture. It’s not a way to become popular. If there’s anything we have come to believe by taking up shelter in a jazz club, it’s that the jazz ethic needs to be reborn in other genres of music. We need musicians to realize that it’s not how many heads you put in the crowd; it’s not how fast you can shred a fretboard; it’s not how many CDs you can sell; it’s not even getting more sets of ears to listen to what you’ve created. What counts is getting on stage and participating in the raw humanity and euphoric catharsis in artistic expression. What counts is getting that expression to connect artists with the audience. " That sold me the instant I read it.
A lot has happened this year, many bad things, too many to count. We move forward with a heavy heart but are excited to finally start seeing some releases. First is the record split with Wire Werewolves which is almost sold out. Next our full length that should come out before the end of the year with some amazing artwork.
Then we have all this new stuff, 2 hours worth of riffs and ideas that we are sorting through and working on. We have a total of three complete songs so far that we are recording and reviewing to find out if we should make any changes etc. I have at least 4 more complete songs, all stuff we can't believe we are working on.
More to come!
Josh
